Oregon Health & Science University Research Assistant 1 in Portland, Oregon
The Prenatal Environment and Child Health Study at OHSU is conducting studies on pregnant women and their children in the areas of diet, nutrition, behavior, learning and cognitive functioning under the direction of Principal Investigators, Elinor Sullivan Ph.D. and Joel Nigg, Ph.D.
The majority of duties will include recruitment of participants, scheduling visits and collecting biological samples, running data collection visits with participants including behavioral assessment, physiologic variables including EEG with children.
Other duties include preparing and processing materials needed for each research visit, filing, copying, data processing and other general duties in support of the goals of the study.
The candidate will also attend weekly laboratory staff meetings with the PIs and senior staff members. A regular work schedule will be assigned and must be maintained. The candidate will be required to perform weekend and evening work as needed to complete the goals of the study.
Bachelor's Degree (4 yr) and OR Associate's degree (2 yr) and 2 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, timely manner
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Bachelor’s Degree with major studies in Psychology, Biology, or a related field
Experience working with women and children in a research setting
REDCap data tool experience
Experience with EEG/ERP data collection
Intermediate experience with Word and Excel
Interest in mental health and/or healthcare
