The Transition to Practice (TTP) Residency Program is designed for New Graduate RN's.
The following units are participating in the TTP Residency Program for Adult Acute and Intermediate Care:
4A Transplant/Urology/Plastics & 14A General Surgery
7C-11K Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit
10A Emergency General Surgery & 13A Trauma
13K Medical/Surgical Oncology & 14K Bone Marrow Transplant
10K Neurosciences/OTO/HNS (note different shift below)
This role is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA).
This TTP AIE Track is hiring for multiple positions. The positions will be distributed based on the current amount of knowledge and skills of the other nurses in the unit/departments.
FTE: 0.9, Full Time (Note: 10K is 0.8 FTE)
Shift Length: 12 Hours (Note: 10K is 8 Hours)
Start and Stop Times: 1900-0730
Weekend Obligation: Unit based approved guidelines
Floating Obligation: Within 6 months per unit recommendation
Salary: Hourly rate based on ONA contract
Leave: Successful completion of the TTP program necessitates attendance during all learning activities.
Vacations, paid or unpaid leave requests up to 8-weeks from the start date are not permitted. All other vacation, paid or unpaid leave requests are subject to compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between ONA and OHSU.

Minimum requirements for all Nurses:
Review the RN Role Description on the TTP Program webpage.
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing for external hires; Baccalaureate degree preferred to internal candidates.
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing awarded from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) by 30 days before the start date.
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license by 1 week before the start date.
Current BLS certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA by the start date.
7C-11K ONLY: Current ACLS certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA by the start date.
Department Specific Requirements:
Review the Department Specific Requirements on the TTP Program webpage.
Clinical Practicum in an adult inpatient unit.
BLS (and ACLS for 11K/7C ONLY) must not expire during the TTP Program.
A minimum score of 11/18 on the OHSU Nurse Interview Evaluation Tool.
Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Individualized Orientation Schedule of 6-12 weeks:
The intended start date is January 25, 2021. Note that this date may be adjusted based on operational needs.
Group-based, self-directed, and preceptorship shifts are integrated weekly for up to 40 hours per week.
Group-based sessions: Monday-Sunday all-hours up to 8-hours a week.
Self-directed shifts: Monday-Sunday all-hours up to 8-hours a week.
Preceptorship shifts: Assigned based on preceptor team schedules during Monday-Sunday 0700-1930, 1900-0730, 0700-1530, 1500-2330, 2300-0730, or 1900-0330. Transition to hired shift is based on unit readiness and the completion of group-based sessions.
Transition to hired shift may be delayed for a temporary reassignment due to individual development needs and skill mix of the employees on the unit or the hires shift at any given time.
