Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a Senior Accountant for a secure company in the Portland area for a 5 month engagement. This role is a temporary position with a great likelihood for an extension. The Senior Accountant will perform general accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for various monthly close activities, including preparing and reviewing various journal entries and account reconciliations
Overseeing accounts payable and receivable
Support the preparation of complete, accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial statements within scheduled timeframe.
Coordinate with auditors to assist in quarterly and year-end audit procedures, including audit requests
General ledger work and assisting in the preparation of financial statement reports including summary information
Develop and maintain relationships with various members of the organization in order to implement process improvements
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Assist with special projects as needed and perform other duties as required
Monitor and review temporarily and permanently restricted net assets
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent
Preferably 5+ years of accounting experience
Financial reporting experience
Excellent analytical skills
Comprehensive knowledge of month-end closings
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, including QuickBooks
