Oregon Health & Science University Senior Research Assistant in Portland, Oregon
This position has the potential to be fully remote or in Portland, Oregon at the South Waterfront campus.

The Senior Research Assistant (SRA) will support multiple research projects on health care reform, consisting of quantitative and mixed-methods (quantitative + qualitative) studies on Medicaid and similar publicly administered health programs. Current studies include program evaluations in Oregon and Washington as well as nationally-scoped research on subjects such as health disparities and payment reform.
The SRA will work independently with the oversight of project leads and study investigators to carry out a variety of research support tasks. Primary tasks include developing and submitting Institutional Review Board research protocols, obtaining data-use agreements from agencies, assisting with research project management, performing background research, analyzing and summarizing program documents, scheduling research interviews, managing and analyzing interview data, and contributing to and producing research reports. The SRA will support project leads and investigators in managing multi-site research teams. Depending on qualifications and interests, other tasks may include participating in research dissemination through web and social media content development and development of presentations, plus other research-related work in support of the center’s mission.
Bachelor’s Degree with major courses in the field of research and 1-3 years of relevant experience
Strong writing, editing, and grammatical skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask and prioritize tasks/duties under pressure
Detail-oriented and accountable for task completion, showing a high level of initiative and the ability to work independently
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions or navigating unusual situations
Outstanding interpersonal skills to interact professionally with faculty, staff, and all levels of management
Master’s Degree in a field such as public health, sociology, anthropology, economics, technical writing, or a similar field
Prior study-management experience in health-services or health-care research, particularly experience writing IRB and data-use agreement applications for large-dataset and/or qualitative research and/or experience in qualitative interviewing and analysis
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Atlas.ti
Knowledge of and experience in working in diverse workplaces and with diverse research partners and populations
