ZGF Architects Staff Accountant in Portland, Oregon
ZGF Architects is seeking a passionate, motivated, and driven Staff Accountant to join our team in the Portland, OR location. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, innovative, and possesses the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced professional environment.
The Staff Accountant position supports the Accounting Department in the effort of producing timely and accurate financial reporting. This position requires an individual who is conscientious, dependable, organized, and highly detail oriented.
As a Staff Accountant, you will....
Prepare journal entries with proper documentation
Perform reconciliations and analyze various general ledger accounts, while meeting deadlines
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Participate in and contribute to the financial statement and overhead audit process including preparation of various audit schedules
Assist in the preparation of various tax filings, such as personal property tax return, annual partnership income tax return, affiliated companies? tax returns
Evaluate processes and system infrastructures and identify process improvements, if needed
Process Partner checks (payroll, distributions, quarterly tax payments)
Prepare cash flows and accounts receivable reports
Identify, research, investigate, and problem-solve general ledger account and/or internal control issues
Maintain affiliated companies? records and books current and prepare related tax work papers
Support month-end and year-end accounting close for areas of functional responsibility
Support financial planning and analysis on the completion of monthly and annual actual versus forecast reporting
Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
2-4 years of relevant work experience
Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical
Ability to collaborate and problem-solve within a professional environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables/v lookups)
Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint software, preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with management, team members, peers, and cross-functional teams
