We are seeking a Measurement Engineer to join our Performance Lab team in our Portland, Oregon location.

What we’re looking for:
Ability to assist with development of new measurement platforms including custom instrumentation
Design and build data acquisition systems - develop and maintain data acquisition/analysis and test control software routines in LabVIEW
Design and build mechanical and/or electrical systems for use in automated performance or reliability testing of products.
Experience in using Solidworks and AutoCAD Electrical for design work is preferred
Programs in C++ or Visual Basic (preferred, but not required)
Experience with operating, maintaining, and upgrading data acquisition systems for existing applications
Ability to assess measurement system & data integrity
Proven experience with determining specifications and validating performance of measurement systems
Capable of troubleshooting machine faults, errors, and erroneous data outputs
Proficient with data collection & analysis, including final reports with recommendations and alternatives
Experience identifying test improvement opportunities
Clearly defined and documented project requirements, timing, and resources
Experience performing cost estimates, including capital requests and budget monitoring where necessary
Conduct and participate in design reviews
Perform corrective actions on existing measurement equipment, including electronic equipment
Works with design engineers to develop new testing methods and processes and new instrumentation as required by product development projects
Provide/arrange calibrations services
Perform ergonomic & safety assessments
Implement documentation requirements
What you’ll do:
The Test Engineer will apply technical expertise in mechanical engineering, electronics, physics, and computer sciences in the design, modification, and operation of measurement systems and automated test equipment to generate valid data. Typical test data will be mechanical (force, pressure, vibration, etc.) or electrical (voltage, current, frequency) in nature from which design engineers, test technicians, and other customers make manufacturing process, product design, and/or testing process decisions. In addition, this role is highly interactive within the company and may require using engineering judgment to make recommendations to an internal audience regarding testing or design.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
3 - 5 years of experience as a measurement engineer, test engineer, or similar role
Experience with programming software – LabVIEW highly preferred
Multi-channel data acquisition systems
Experience with high speed and thermal photography
Experience in mechanical design of test systems required
Electrical engineering experience preferred, but not required but preferred
Project management experience desired
Experience with a broad range of manufacturing processes
Experience with product application, especially in the outdoor power tool/lawn & garden market, is desired
Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and determine importance and creative thinker
Rapidly responds to changes in direction, priorities, and project requirements
Available to work on site as required by job
