TEC Equipment, Inc. Outside Parts Sales in Redmond, Oregon

We have a full-time opportunity for a customer and sales-driven Outside Parts and Service Sales Representative for our Redmond, Oregon location. Our location has been open for 1 year and our body shop will be open in the summer of 2021. We are looking to bring an Outside Sales individual that will have responsibilities for this territory as we increase TEC’s business presence in Central Oregon. We are looking for an individual that can work independently with limited supervision, is passionate about their work and growing TEC’s footprint, and has had proven success in achieving results.

An Outside Parts Sales Person is responsible for representing this Value Proposition in order to create and develop opportunities that will result in strong, steady, and sustainable growth of parts sales. The Sales Person must be able to create and maintain customer profiles including unique challenges or problems the customer faces and solutions TEC can provide to solve them. The best fit for this role is a person who can be an entrepreneur within the company, seeking and finding creative solutions and pushing boundaries to constantly surprise customers with a higher level of customer service than they have seen before.

In this position you will be eligible for a competitive commission structure, company vehicle, cell phone and/or electronic device.

  • Meet with customers daily to provide solutions to problems, review product needs, determine new opportunities, and provide product quotes; understand the most impactful way to position TEC’s Value Proposition with all customers. Call on prospective customers and assigned accounts within your assigned territory; may deliver parts to customers to build relationships.

  • Consistently demonstrate behavior that supports achievement of required sales and new account targets. Service existing accounts and maintain contact with customers in relation to their requirements.

  • Set weekly stretch goals for number of new accounts, number of scheduled appointments, and number of existing customer visits and implement strategies to support achievement of those goals; review reports on a weekly basis to find opportunities for continued improvement.

  • Act as the main liaison between customers and TEC to provide up-to-date status of service, pricing, and new product release launches and proactively update customers on product changes and modifications; constantly look for ways to transition parts customers to TEC’s lifelong sales and service customers in addition to parts. Connect customers to other internal departments as needed (e.g., finance, service, insurance).

  • Understand all offerings of TEC in order to facilitate clear communication throughout the entire customer experience; in particular, have a complete understanding of all aspects of the service department’s delivery model in order to find additional parts sales opportunities.

  • Prepare weekly reports for marketing and sales and maintain accurate monthly expense accounts.

  • Attend training, departmental meetings, Trade Shows and Conferences to stay up to date on company changes, industry trends and technological advances.

  • Organize and attend joint sales calls with Vendors monthly; initiate and conduct ride-alongs with Vendors quarterly.

  • Perform daily maintenance of customers’ accounts including updating contact information for future sales.

  • 5+ years of experience with the heavy-duty truck and trailer industry & knowledge of multiple brands of parts.

  • 5+ years of successful outside sales experience, meeting or exceeding goals.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills & great organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships with customers and internal partners.

  • Self-motivated to drive sales.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to act as a team player and maintain internal and external relationships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English.

  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and time management skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

  • Valid driver license.

  • Ability to maintain a clean vehicle and professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
