responsibilities:
Cyber Defense -Network Security Consultant (Remote location)
The Network Security Consultant will provide network security design and delivery expertise working within the Cyber Defense consultancy team. The role will be aligned to specific major clients typically located in the UK.
Note: This job role relates to team members based at remote locations where the practicalities of travel mean that on client-site working is expected to be very limited. Direct client engagement (e.g. mail, telephone, WebEx) is still however a key element of the role.
The role includes the following responsibilities.
Delivery
Take the lead in design and delivery of small to medium network security projects ensuring that solutions meet agreed business requirements and that required delivery methodologies are followed.
Work closely with the assigned practice project manager to ensure that projects are delivered to time and budget.
Provide support to peers working on other projects within the practice.
Contribute to peer-reviews of HLD, LLD and other project documentation as required.
Work with internal and external stake holders to understand business requirements and prepare appropriate technical solution designs at both high and low levels.
Pre-sales and Practice development
Contribute to the on-going development of the practice intellectual property (IP), standard collateral and capabilities;
Proactively identify new business/project opportunities;
Support the definition, scope and estimation of security project;
Personal/General
Maintain day to day records of project work to allow accurate billing and reporting of consultancy time;
Maintain an effective network of business contacts within and their partner community;
Maintain and grow their own knowledge to ensure this is relevant to the security services practice and its clients;
Maintain an effective day to day on-line presence (IM, phone) to ensure effective remote working.
Be proactive and be able to work without direct day to day supervision.
Have strong presentation and written/verbal English language communications skills.
Have a minimum of 3-5 years of security consulting, design and delivery experience.
As a Security Consultant you will bring:
- Technical expertise across a wide range of vendors ideally with very strong skills in at least 3 or 4 of the technologies below (please note preferred technologies):
o Network FWs: Cisco ASA, Check Point, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet;
o Security Devices: Bluecoat Proxy, F5 (LTM, GTM, ASM), Zscaler, Cisco IronPort;
o IDP/IPS: FirePower/Sourcefire IPS/IDS, McAfee;
o Vulnerability Scanners: Skybox, Nessus, Nikto, Qualys;
o APT: FireEye, Palo Alto WildFire; Bluecoat Solara
o Network Access Control (NAC): Cisco ISE;
Experience with building, maintaining, reviewing all configurations/settings/policies on chosen technologies;
Experience working with operational environments following ITIL frameworks;
Good general knowledge and expertise of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, WAN, LAN);
Excellent documentation skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Visio and Word;
Excellent troubleshooting skills (technical and non-technical);
It is highly desirable that you possess at least one of the following professional qualifications:
Cisco CCNP/CCIE Security
Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE
Palo Alto PCNSE;
