As the Sr. Maintenance Engineer – Plumbing, you will be responsible for ensuring proper installation, repair, operation and preventative maintenance for all Salem Health building systems and equipment. You will work side-by-side with the engineering team to perform the journeyman-level plumbing maintenance and repairs for the hospital. In addition you will maintain compliance with Environment of Care while displaying teamwork and a positive attitude. This position will require flexibility in scheduling and occasional on call availability.
Perform skilled (journeyman level) maintenance, repair and construction duties in one or more trades. You will serve as the plumbing specialty expert for Salem Health.
Performs preventative maintenance routines as assigned, documents performance and creates work orders as needed on CMMS program.
Conduct Life Safety and Environment of Care inspections, repairs, maintenance and testing.
Routine repair, installation and modification of facility features.
Maintains safe working areas, tools and equipment are organized and kept clean.
Participate in competency development program.
High School graduate, GED or equivalent experienced, required.
Minimum of eight (8) years of facility maintenance and/or applicable systems required.
Oregon Journeyman level plumber license, required.
ASSE International Certification, preferred.
Valid Oregon driver’s license and an acceptable driving record per Salem Health Fleet Safety guidelines.
Formal education or On-The-Job training related to building trades.
Building system knowledge and understanding of proper and safe use of a variety of tools, and troubleshooting devices.
General understanding of applicable codes and regulations.
