Senior Software Engineer - Growth

Smartsheet is looking for our next Senior Software Engineer (Sr. SE) to join the development team. The Growth team is a cross-functional team that owns the entire delivery experience for customers from business requirements to technical systems that allow us to directly affect the user's journey from on-boarding to conversion from trial to paid users. You will report to an Engineering leader in our Bellevue office or Remotely

You will:

• Participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release

• Implement new features and improve the ones we have already built

• Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution

• Write clean and efficient code in Java based on product specifications

• Develop reusable JavaScript components used across our product (we use React, Redux, JSX, JavaScript, Typescript, NodeJS)

• Work with other team members in your own team as well as collaborate with other teams for any dependencies

You have:

• 5+ years software development experience

• 4+ years full-stack web application development , with Java and React

• Experience building highly scalable, high availability applications

• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

• Experience building Java-based scalable back-end services

• Experience building REST based APIs

• Experience developing microservices and software solutions using AWS

• Experience building Single Page Applications at scale using React

• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project

• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

• BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience

Nice to Have:

• Experience implementing responsive designs for mobile, tablet, and desktop browsers

• Experience automating CI/CD for highly scalable system

• MySQL database experience (performance, scalability, availability)

• Experience with Memcached or NoSQL data stores
