Description

The Oregon State Police is recruiting for a Stockroom Coordinator to join the General Services Division.

Oregon State Police is here to serve the State of Oregon with a diverse workforce dedicated to the protection of people, property and natural resources.

What will you be doing?

Orders, receives, packs, ships, stocks, maintains inventories, works with vendors, uniform fittings, maintains SDS records, surplus coordination, and maintains security for the OSP Stockroom.

The goal of this recruitment is to fill this position at the Supply Specialist 2 level. However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the Supply Specialist 1 ($2,412 - $3,331 per month) to apply, as we may consider under-filling the position until the selected candidate meets the minimum qualifications for a Supply Specialist 2.

This position is a full-time permanent position that is classified and represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union (AFSCME). This position will be located in Salem at the OSP General Headquarters.

Current OSP AFSCME Support Unit employees who meet the minimum qualifications of this position will be given preference in the selection process.

Qualifications, Required & Requested Skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -SUPPLY SPECIALIST 2:

Three (3) years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, equipment or materials, maintaining inventory records, and shipping and receiving materials and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -SUPPLY SPECIALIST 1 (UNDERFILL):

One (1) year of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, equipment or materials and shipping and receiving materials and equipment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of inventory practices and procedures

  • Ability to maintain proper inventory levels

  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving including common carrier practices

  • Possession or be able to gain forklift and scissor lift certification within 2 months of hire

  • Valid vehicle operators license (drivers license) with no restrictions that would prohibit the operation of a state of Oregon vehicle

  • Knowledge and experience with software applications used to manage stock, assets, and incoming stock requests

  • Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds on a regular basis, 70 pounds occasionally with proper equipment

  • Understanding of uniforms and uniform fitting

  • General knowledge of rank and rank insignias

  • General knowledge of weapons and safe weapon handling

  • Knowledge regarding federal regulations involving police and military equipment

  • Able to interact politely and professionally

  • Responsive to requests for assistance
