Trucking Dispatcher

Hamilton Construction Company has an immediate job opportunity for a Truck Boss/Dispatcher to join our team in Springfield. This position is responsible for coordinating trucking operations for our construction projects in multiple states including Washington, Colorado, Alaska, California, and Wyoming.

Hamilton is willing to train the right person with previous trucking industry experience and an understanding of what it takes to safely and efficiently transport construction equipment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating trucking needs of all types including flats, steps, vans, lowboy and heavy haul. This includes obtaining permits and scheduling escorts when required.

  • Working closely with superintendents, supervisors and managers to meet the transportation needs of the jobs.

  • Working with barge transport companies to move material and equipment in and out of Alaska.

  • Managing Hamilton’s CDL driver compliance with all FMCSA regulations including ELD mandate compliance.

  • Notification of all required truck maintenance and repairs in a timely manner and modify schedules to accommodate those repairs.

  • Ensuring all Corporate and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years in the trucking industry performing dispatch duties or related trucking experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of truck & trailer capacity & compatibility.

  • Working knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations.

  • Above average knowledge of construction equipment, size/weight, loading/unloading procedures.

  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to changing situations. Requires strong decision making skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.

  • Must be able to work productively in a fast paced, team environment while maintaining a high level of patience.

  • Requires strong organizational skills.

  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to manage time productively.

  • Some computer skills needed
