For 60 years, we’ve been helping our members with innovative, evidence-based health plans, diverse networks, member programs and superb customer service.We are currently seeking a full time Patient Care Specialist to manage the front office functions for our partner Dental Clinic located in Tigard, Oregon. The Patient Care Specialist will contribute to the front office clerical business success of Tigard TenderCare through effective patient customer service and communication, recall/recare production, accurate financial data, collections, records entry and total patient satisfaction.

This position REQUIRES Dental Office Front Desk experience and extensive working knowledge of Dentrix Dental Software

Primary Functions:

  1. Open and close dental office according to office protocol.2. Keep the front office neat and in a professional appearance.3. Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practice.4. Answer incoming office calls.5. Schedule patient appointments and make confirmation calls efficiently and effectively.6. Explain office policy to patients including late cancel and no show policy.7. Update dental insurance information on all patients.8. Review delinquent patient accounts, and prepare appropriate correspondence to patients or insurance companies.9. Prepare and present patient financial treatment plan options.10. Assist patients with billing questions.11. Contact patients regarding delinquent account status, and coordinate payment arrangements.12. Work on a productive patient appointment recall/recare system.13. Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is full time working Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Required Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

5+ years dental office customer service experience.

Dental Insurance and recall/recare experience.

Knowledge and understanding of dental terminology.

Typing ability of 40 wpm. Strong 10-key skills.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications,and Dentrix experience.

Bi-lingual Spanish speaking preferred.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and work with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.

Ability to come into work on time and on a daily basis.

Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image.
