Shields Manufacturing Financial Planning & Operations Analyst in Tualatin, Oregon

Shields Manufacturing continues to diversify and expand substantially, creating an immediate need for an experienced Financial Operations Analyst. Working under general supervision from various locations across North America, this person will be a key asset in the future growth of the company. This position is responsible for providing senior management and executives with the analysis and information they need to make major operational, financial and strategic decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

  • Works closely with business partners to identify emerging trends that help drive reports and analytics tool enhancements that enable execution of business.

  • Maintains and refines internal process of collecting, manipulating, and analyzing financial data, including validation of expected results from accounting and financial tools.

  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

  • Drive & modulate budgeting & forecasting process for multiple departments within the organization.

  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial reports and finds discrepancies that require senior management?s attention.

  • Prepares financial reports with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies.

  • Provides ad-hoc analysis as requested by senior management.

  • Identifies and contributes to the implementation of process improvements.

  • Maintains clear and concise communication with various matrix partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years-experience working in finance, data analysis, manufacturing, or similar experience.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes using raw materials required. Precision Machining is highly desired.

  • Expert skills in Access, SAS or related technologies. Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and a multiple system environment.

  • Robust experience with Prophix, Hyperion or a similar cube-based tool highly desired; Syteline or similar ERP and experience creating financial models using Excel or similar tools.

  • Ability to understand and effectively translate financials into actionable items for presentations to various audiences required.

  • Proven track record of working with groups or teams to implement changes resulting from financial analysis.

  • Ability to keep organized in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, deductive reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.

  • A growth mindset with high EQ/emotional intelligence including the ability to work within ambiguity and quickly changing projects and priorities. This includes displaying insight, discernment, accountability, and ambition with tact.

  • Proven success working independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, including training and documentation.

  • Keen attention to detail and always maintaining discretion and confidentiality.

  • Must be able to travel to various US locations and into Canada.

  • Multi-currency knowledge and experience working with various locations across east and west coast time-zones desired.
