This hands-on individual will lead the Engineering Laboratory and Test Engineering team to support development and testing for the $80M/Year Power Distribution, Circuit Protection, and Power Conversion product lines in Tualatin, OR. They will lead a team of 4 – 10 technical professionals in electrical, mechanical, environmental and production testing of new and existing products. They will ensure products are tested to verify and validate the design, and document the process and results.
List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
Manages the lab and test technicians and in their day-to-day activities, as well as their long-term performance, development and growth plans.
Manages the preparation for, scheduling of, and conduction of verification and validation testing of new products during their development in R&D.
Reviews test results during the testing and reporting phases to ensure they clearly communicate conclusions to the project team.
Researches and recommends new test equipment and processes to improve lab functional capabilities.
Directs the creation of tests and test fixtures as required to perform necessary functional and environmental tests.
Maintains a working knowledge of industry standard and customer-specific test procedures.
Maintains a working knowledge of Agency and regulatory requirements (RoHS, REACH, CISPR, IEC, ISO, etc.).
Assists in the development and enforcement of safety procedures and regulations.
Able to lead, direct, coordinate, and bring successful closure to distinct assignments.
Guides and shares knowledge in order to improve technician pool’s core knowledge and capabilities.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
3 or more years’ experience in new product development in electrical and electromechanical systems.
2 or more years’ experience managing people in technology environment.

This position requires us of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
Experience in product testing, test development, Design of Experiments.
Experience with various software tools (C compilers, programming environments, programming stations, serial data networks).
Understanding of commercial vehicle markets and the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required.
Working knowledge of automotive and serial data protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, J1939, LIN).
Designing test and programming fixtures.
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to operate with minimal supervision
Must have good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and direct team of skilled technicians to complete tasks within committed schedules.
Travel to outside labs, customer sites, or external manufacturing sites, including offshore sites, may occasionally be required.
Detailed skill in use of computer for test documentation and analysis.
Able to use programming skills to develop automated instrument control and data acquisition programs. (i.e. Microsoft Office, LabView, etc.)
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
