Eaton Corporation Lead Electrical Engineer-Power Conversion in Tualatin, Oregon
Eaton’s Vehicle- eMobility division is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer-Power Conversion to join our team. The position will be based at our Tualatin, OR facility.
The Lead Electrical Engineer-Power Conversion is responsible to design, develop, test, complete technical documentation, and launch new power conversion products within the eMobility Commercial Vehicle product lines. Take complete charge of the electronics from design through launch. Uses CAD and simulation tools to design and test product integrity in order to facilitate rapid deployment. Troubleshoot digital and analog electronic circuits in electronics assemblies. Lead and participate in requirements testing and cost estimation, design reviews and other team development processes. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies, materials and tools, and disseminates relevant developments to other members of the technical staff.

You will guide the development and generation of product requirements specification based on Voice of Customer (VOC) inputs.
You will following the product spec, and in coordination with the customer(s), design and development new and innovative products.
You will employing appropriate DFSS tools, performs product-level testing during developments.
You will complete and review appropriate technical documentation: Schematics, BOMs, DFMEA, Theory of Ops, etc.
You will Develop and launch new products following the stage-gate process (i.e., PROLaunch).
You will provide supervision and support to internal and external design resources when appropriate (e.g. PCB designer, other engineers, software development, test laboratories).
You will Develop test strategies and plans for both design validation and production test in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.
You will guide the engineering activities for electronic circuit development in core R&D team.
You will Investigate and test new components and technologies, and evaluate their appropriate use within our product lines.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with new product development supporting electrical and electromechanical systems.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Electronic hardware design—power electronics and switch-mode power supplies for vehicle electric environments, battery charging and management systems, design strategies for EMC, etc.
Experience with electric and hybrid electric vehicle systems a plus.
Experience designing and developing electric motor drive systems, DC, 3-phase AC, PM, SR, FW motors a plus.
Experience with C and embedded programming.
Position Success Criteria:
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
Good understanding of commercial vehicle markets and the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required.
