The Sr. Safety Manager is a key member of the Pacific Supply Chain Leadership Team who works with leadership peers to support the development of a proactive safety culture.
Accountable to ensure that site safety policies are consistent with Campbell standards and compliant with federal and state regulations.
Collaborates with leadership and training resources to ensure that safety training programs are effective.
Establishes and maintains an ongoing safety continuous improvement plan, providing regular progress reports to the Leadership Team and plant population
Accountable to ensure that there is an effective monthly safety inspection program
Leads safety incident response and ensures that plant team members at all levels are prepared to respond to safety incidents
Provides analysis of injury drivers and engages leadership to disrupt loss trends
Supports the Safety Program Manager to coach and guide the safety committee
Develop programs and policies that promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance
Provide leadership, guidance and direction over complex safety related projects
Leads the Site's safety system program and facilitates leadership ownership of safety systems to ensure compliance with audit requirements
Supports the ongoing development of the Safety Program Manager
Represents Pacific Foods in CSC safety network activities
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Dynamic and motivated safety professional who will role model safe behaviors
Robust leadership and communication skills with ability to influence all levels of the organization
Advanced knowledge of OR-OSHA rules, regulations and interpretations
Demonstrated knowledge of techniques and strategies to develop, implement and coordinate effective long-term solutions
Effective administrative skills (e.g., planning, prioritizing and organizing with strong attention to detail).
Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and achieve goals in a timely manner.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with various business groups to accomplish business objectives.
Strong analytical skills with ability to make critical decisions when necessary.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 10 years' managing safety in a manufacturing plant or other production related environment. Experience with observation based safety/behavior based safety programs preferred.
Work is performed during the day in in both an office environment and in manufacturing areas. Physical requirements include sitting, hearing, talking, handling, and repetitive motions hands/wrists motions. Significant amounts of time will be spent in a production environment that is usually loud. Exposure to hazardous materials, high-pressure steam, high voltage and walking and/or standing.
