Aerotek Software Engineer in TUALATIN, Oregon

Description:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Product Architecture (low to medium complexity)

o Review customer requirements & define technical specifications;

o Define hardware/software interface;

o Create software architectures & compare solutions;

• Product Design (low to medium complexity)

o Define module designs including interfaces, interactions, inner

functions;

o Develop software code including comments;

o Review code from others;

• Product Testing

o Develop software tools along the product engineering to read out

data, control hardware via the PC;

o Define test plan for module & system tests on guidance from

engineers;

o Verify product function, assessing boundary conditions of

solutions;

• Manufacturing Support

o Program & maintain service applications;

• Clearly and effectively communicate to internal and external team

members and stakeholders;

• Work both individually and on a team;

• Some international travel may be required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Software

Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent;

• Knowledge of programming embedded C for 8-, 16- and 32-bit

microcontrollers including familiarity with data types, syntax, and

control structures;

• Basic skills working with compilers, linkers, software development

environments, and version control systems;

• Ability to write own applications for testing using object-oriented

language like Python, C# or equivalent;

• Understanding of electronic circuit theory and schematics;

• Ability to work with electronic test equipment including

oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, power supply;

• Strong problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Software

Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent;

• 2+ years of related industry experience;

• Capable of understanding and writing assembly code;

• Familiar operating wood working tools.
